I couldn't imagine the work need to be done to make a game that tens of thousands of players all think the physics is predictable, so much so that we don't think about it much, because it was so well-tuned. I kind of able to expect where the ball would go but from times to time, it would not react to the way I expect it to. There are so many things that if you only play the game you would forgot this is something that need time and experience to make! It took me so many hours just to tune the physics and the outcome is just. From the car hitbox, the gravity, the bounce of the ball with the wall, the bounce of the car with the wall AND the bounce of the ball with the car and etc. The first thing I worked on is to replicate the physics in Rocket League, it was a nightmare lol.
